Strategic Objectives and Outcomes
The project objectives and the specific outcomes of each objective are:
  1. Target beneficiaries and partners will develop deeper awareness and understanding of gender and development, of decentralisation and local governance, and of the issues that have direct negative impact their lives and development
    1. DPA staff, partners and target beneficiaries gain greater awareness and understanding of decentralisation, of local governance, and of the issues having direct negative impact on their lives
    2. Development education materials are prepared and distributed to all stakeholders
    3. Gender equity is integrated into the work of DPA and its partners and target communities
  2. Program staff, partners and target beneficiaries will develop the capacity to achieve positive outcomes in land and logging cases
    1. Capacity of DPA staff, partners, and target beneficiaries to protect their land rights is strengthened
    2. Capacity of DPA staff, partners and target beneficiaries to protect their rights to access, use and manage forest land and resources is strengthened
  3. Policy makers will be influenced to promulgate more favourable policies and programs related to land and logging issues
    1. Advocacy strategies for influencing policy makers on land and logging issues are developed based on the experience of DPA program and partners
    2. Target beneficiaries and partners join, participate and, where appropriate, lead networks concerned with advocacy on land and logging issues and, through this, exert greater influence on relevant officials

Advocacy initiatives of target beneficiaries, partners and other organisations to change opinions of concerned officials and enable further positive action are provided financial and technical support.
